When my family first moved to Los Angeles in 2005, we became obsessed with the Friday night jazz summer series at LACMA. Without fail, when we would arrive there on Fridays, we would be greeted in the dancing ring by this wonderful Japanese man (who I have decided is probably from Okinawa.) He is one of my most favorite people in Los Angeles.
