This photograph was taken of a man washing himself in a fountain in the old city of Alfama in Lisbon, Portugal. Alfama is an amazing place to get lost for a day, taking in the sounds of fado music and neighbors greeting one another. Fountains in Portugal are where the town meets. They do everything outside - wash dishes, talk to neighbors, play music and cards. The streets are an extension of their homes.
